Mirador Winery Club Spring Release

Don't Forget to RVSP for Pizza!

Our Spring club pick up party will be on Saturday, March 30th from 12-4pm.  We will have complimentary wood fired pizza to pair with the wine.  If the weather does not cooperate, we will change it up and provide some other scrumptious pairing indoors.  We are hoping for good pizza/wine weather, but you never know this time of year.

Please RSVP by emailing annamaria@miradorwinery.com or calling (530) 620-7913 by March 25th to let us know how many will be attending in your party so we can make sure we have plenty of pizza!

The Spring Release consists of the two following wines:

2019 Argument - Red Blend - $38/bottle

“The Argument” is a red blend wine that resulted from an exchange of two divergent winemaking views.  It was settled by blending 66% Petite Sirah and 34% Syrah when initially barreled.

There is always more to the story…
In the winery, everyone has a role and there can be only one winemaker who is responsible for making the final decisions.  The assistant winemaker is supposed to assist with the day-to-day operations of the winemaking operations. This wine is the result of the assistant winemaker not staying in her swim lane, stepping out of her role and encouraging the winemaker to jump into her pool leading to an argument.  After much discussion, “The Argument” was created.  Since the wine was produced and bottled, you can guess who won the argument.  Wine Enthusiast agreed as well and awarded the wine a score of 92 PTs.

Maybe not all arguments are bad. 😊

This wine will pair well with an entire meal starting with a fig jam, Humboldt fog goat cheese, and crispy bacon crostini for an appetizer to braised short ribs over polenta as your entrée and finishing up with a decadent dark chocolate brownie for dessert.  The wine exhibits notes of boysenberry and vanilla bean where the flavor of glazed mission figs and black cherry round out the palate.  The finish is long and lingers with hints of balsamic glaze and molasses.

2019 Brad's Block Syrah - $34/bottle

Brad's Block Syrah is back, a crowd favorite.  This is a mouthwatering Syrah that will pair well with any of your favorite meat dishes. The wine exhibits notes of black cherry and plum with hints of coriander followed by cedar plank smoked meat.  The wine has firm tannins and the fruit finishes deliciously exhibiting a dark chocolate component as well.  Dark chocolate covered cherries come to mind when enjoying this wine.

The wine club offereings are as follows:

Omo Ranch Club Members will receive (1) bottle of each wine
Dorado Canyon Club Members will receive (2) bottles of each wine
Fair Play Club Members will receive (3) bottles of each wine

Cheers!
Carey and Anna Maria
